Amy Elkin

Founder & Chief Creative Officer

After getting her degree in Communication Arts & Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996, Amy spent the first 20 years of her career at The Martin Agency, one of the country’s top advertising agencies. She began with a teensy little project: designing Coca-Cola’s very first website. From there, she helped many Fortune 500 companies build their digital brand presence. Armed with this finely honed digital prowess, Amy entered the general creative department to bring digital sensibilities and modern creativity to all media — broadcast, print, digital, and more.

Over the years, Amy created many award-winning integrated campaigns for clients including UPS, Hanes, Barely There, Walmart, Moen, Newseum and others. She received awards from The One Show, NY Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, Kelly Awards, Obie Awards and more. And her most treasured recognition was from The Martin Agency in 2009, when she received the “creative excellence”  Cobblestone award from Mike Hughes. Amy’s work has also been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company, The Wall Street Journal, Ad Age, E!, and even The Ellen Degeneres Show.

In 2015, Amy left The Martin Agency to freelance and teach at VCU Brandcenter. In 2017, Amy founded Creative Arm, a creative & strategic services company. From brand identities to full-fledged advertising campaigns, Creative Arm helped many clients including Elephant and Apparent Insurance, The Woman's Club, Slay like a Mother, and more. After adding a few more awards to her shelves, Amy needed to take a break from advertising. In 2020, Creative Arm stopped offering advertising and branding services so Amy could focus on caring for her family. She then began a new creative venture where she and her husband make one-of-a-kind hand-painted chairs, home décor and more. Amy’s loves to explore new ways to stretch her creative muscle. You never know what she’ll do next.
