Kristen Dutton

Creative Director + Copywriter

After growing up in big ad agencies, Kristen Dutton jumped into a freelance career, determined to work with independent clients who want their brands to talk like people. Big or small, sexy or diamond-in-the-rough, Kristen’s clients span a wide range of budgets, industries, and temperaments. But they all share a desire to find a partner who is good at listening and helping brands communicate in the most compelling and natural way possible.

Before freelancing, Kristen helped lead creative efforts for Mizuno running shoes and The Home Depot’s social media. She created campaigns for national marketers like Walmart, GEICO, TracFone, and Morgan Stanley. And during her long-term tour on Oreo, the senior client often referred to Kristen as “the voice of the cookie” — an honor that only comes after months of fine-tuning copy and dutifully eating every Oreo variety under the sun.

Kristen lives in Richmond, Virginia, with Advertising Account Guy Husband Jed, Mischievous Toddler Jack, and Jolliest Infant Molly. She spent over a decade working at The Martin Agency and 22squared, learning the ins and outs of traditional, digital, and social advertising. As an English major from Davidson College, she fights on behalf of the oxford comma and is irrationally attached to an honor code. And to cookies.
